Eye on Lagos
Imnakoya, a Nigerian who now lives in Minnesota, and blogs at Grandiose Parlor, posted a 9-minute video titled, "Eye on Lagos -- Business Climate." It's a series of interviews with business people and government officials about the reasons the Lagos business climate is good and the reasons it's not so good. The video also gives those of us who have never been to Lagos some mental images to accompany our thinking about Nigeria's largest city.I'd like to have my students watch this and keep track of the political and governmental issues that come up in the interviews. The focus of a follow-up discussion would depend on whether this was an introduction to Nigeria, a summary, or a comparative exercise.
